Objectifs
The purpose of this course is to develop / apply concepts of game theory for / to market design questions (with a focus on so-called matching markets).
Contenus
Part I: First, we develop the theory of two-sided matching following Roth and Sotomayor (1990, Chapters 2 - 5). Additional references will be posted on the course (moodle) website.
Part II: Second, we study recent applications of two-sided matching to so-called school-choice and related problems (see Sönmez and Ünver, 2009). Additional references will be posted on the course (moodle) website.
Part III: Finally, we study further problems of allocating discrete and scarce resources (house allocation, housing markets, and kidney exchange - see Sönmez and Ünver 2009). Additional references will be posted on the course (moodle) website.
