 New appointment at HEC Lausanne: Spring semester 2016

The Faculty of Business and Economics of the University of Lausanne (HEC Lausanne) welcomes and congratulates its recently appointed Tenure-Track Assistant Professor Mauro Cherubini.  A research project of Prof. Juergen Maurer on chronic illness and poverty has received a grant of more than 2.6 million Swiss francs

As part of the Swiss Programme for Research on Global Issues for Development (r4d) and thanks to finance from the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) to the tune of 2,626,729.00 Swiss francs, health economist Professor Juergen Maurer and his teams this year began a research project designed to measure the impact of chronic illness on economic conditions and poverty in emerging and developing countries.  Professor Enkelejd Hashorva becomes a member of the editorial board of the scientific reviews "Journal of Applied Probability" and "Advances in Applied Probability".

A professor in the Department of Actuarial Sciences at HEC Lausanne, Enkelejd Hashorva was appointed in April as a member of the editorial board of two of the most prestigious scientific publications in the field of applied probability: "Journal of Applied Probability" and "Advances in Applied Probability". These two journals, which function as a single publication, have existed for nearly 50 years and have a worldwide reputation. They examine the application of probability theory to physical, biological, medical, social and technological problems.  Chaplin's World under the magnifying glass of two researchers at HEC Lausanne

Anette Mikes and Felicitas Morhart, both professors in the Faculty of Business and Economics of the University of Lausanne, have just published a scientific study of the development of Chaplin's World. Their research focuses on the role of management practices that have fashioned this multipartite cultural project since 2004.  All systems go for CHIC!

The second edition of the teaching project China Hardware Innovation Camp (CHIC) has just started under the supervision of Professor Marc Laperrouza. It will allow student teams from HEC Lausanne (UNIL), EPFL and ECAL to design and produce prototypes of smart devices.  HEC Lausanne team wins Swiss CFA Institute Research Challenge

A team of students from the Master in Finance at HEC Lausanne won the very prestigious Swiss CFA Institute Research Challenge 2016 on 25 February this year in Zurich. It is the fourth consecutive victory for HEC Lausanne. The competition this year brought together students from St. Gall, Zurich, Lugano, Basel, Neuchâtel and the University of Lichtenstein.  Professor Dominic Rohner receives a Starting Grant 2015 from the European Research Council

Dominic Rohner, a professor in the Faculty of Business and Economics (HEC Lausanne), has received one of the prestigious Starting Grants 2015.
