 Accords d’échanges: trois nouvelles destinations au Royaume-Uni

L’année 2016 est propice aux échanges internationaux pour les étudiant·e·s de la Faculté des HEC de l’Université de Lausanne. Celles et ceux qui désirent allier l’utile à l’agréable pourront ainsi améliorer leur pratique de la langue de Shakespeare tout en étudiant parallèlement. Trois nouveaux accords d’échanges dans le cadre du Swiss European Mobility Program (SEMP) viennent effectivement d’être signés par la Faculté avec des universités au Royaume-Uni. Deux d’entre elles sont membres du prestigieux Russel Group qui rassemble vingt-quatre universités parmi les meilleures au Royaume-Uni et axées sur la recherche scientifique.  Jean-Pierre Danthine admitted as a Corresponding Academician of Spain’s Royal Academy of Economic and Financial Sciences

Jean-Pierre Danthine, Honorary Professor in the Faculty of Business and Economics at the University of Lausanne and a renowned economist, has just been appointed as a Corresponding Academician of Spain’s Royal Academy of Economic and Financial Sciences (RACEF). He will represent Switzerland at this prestigious institution, which supports the promotion of scientific cooperation between the most brilliant international researchers and academics.  Sortie du nucléaire: quels coûts et quelles nouvelles infrastructures?

Que représenterait, en termes de coûts et de nouvelles infrastructures, une sortie du nucléaire en Suisse? Selon une analyse réalisée par Ann Van Ackere, professeure en Sciences de la Décision à la Faculté des HEC de l’Université de Lausanne et le doctorant Sebastian Osorio, une sortie programmée du nucléaire se traduirait par des investissements de plus de 55 milliards de CHF pour la construction de centrales alternatives, auxquels s’ajouteraient les coûts de transport du courant.  Programmes produced by students at HEC Lausanne on Fréquence Banane

It’s a first! Students from the Faculty of Business and Economics at the University of Lausanne are producing programmes in English every week. They are broadcast on Fréquence Banane, the radio station for students in Lausanne. The aim of the exercise is to help them communicate economic topics to a non-specialist audience, as part of their course with Professor Thomas von Ungern.  Nobel Prize in Economics: a closer look at the collaboration between Oliver Hart and Prof. Zehnder

The Nobel Prize in Economics 2016 was awarded last month to two economists, Oliver Hart and Bengt Holmström, for their contribution to contract theory.  Eleven projects approved by the SNSF in 2016

Projects involving 14 researchers from the Faculty of Business and Economics at UNIL were selected for grant funding by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) in 2016. In total, the SNSF will provide over CHF 6.5 million in funding for the new projects, spread over several months or years, enabling the researchers to create a team and launch their project.  A “made in HEC Lausanne” tool for businesses in the Jura

The Cost Differential Frontier Calculator (CDF), developed by researchers at UNIL’s Faculty of Business and Economics, is now being promoted to businesses in Jura by the cantonal government. The aim of the process is to give them access to a tool that allows them to quantify the hidden costs of relocating abroad – either totally or partially – and therefore encourage them to weigh up the pros and cons of offshoring.
